Fish and wildlife resources of the Middle Coast Basin, Oregon, and their water requirements (revised)
The fish and wildlife resources of the Middle Coast Basin (Fig. 1), their present status, value, limiting factors and water requirements are reviewed in this report. Minimum and optimum stream flow recommendations are presented and field study methods outlined.
The flow recommendations for fish life are primarily for use by the State Water Resources Board to update their benefical water use program for the basin. In addition, recommendations are made for recreational and esthetic uses of water not directly related to fish and wildlife water requirements.
Initial field work conducted in the basin in 1962-64 resulted in a report (1965) by James M. Hutchison of the same title as this report. Additional work was carried out by the present authors in 1970-71 using new techniques for stream flow study. Flow recommendations reflecting new field techniques and additional information requested by the State Water Resources Board were added to the present report."Federal Aid to Fish Restoration, completion report. USDA report on water and related land resources, Powder Drainage Basin, Oregon : based on a cooperative survey by the State Water Resources Board of Oregon and the United States Department of Agriculture : report
This report presents information concerning the water and related land
resources of the Powder Drainage Basin. Its purpose is (1) to provide information
on the past and present uses of water and related land resources; (2)
to supply the production data from the use of these resources; (3) to assess
the magnitude of water-related problems such as erosion, flooding, and drainage;
(4) to indicate the probable direction of future use of water and land
for agriculture and forestry in comparison to competing uses; and (5) to outline
a general program for water and land resource management as a background
for future detailed study and planning
